IMPACT INDICATORS

Reclaim has a positive impact on public health since it will decrease the burning of plastic waste in the open air and the dumping of it  at riverbanks, thus reducing air pollution and the contamination of soil and groundwater.

  • Redefining Recycling: By focusing on recycling plastics that would otherwise be neglected or discarded

  • Waste Reduction and Local Production: Our localized production process significantly reduces emissions

  • High-Quality, Purposeful Design: Our boards are not merely a recycled byproduct; they are thoughtfully designed for specific use case. Reclaim will produce Produced 22 500 boards annually

Next to the economic impact in the plastics value chain, Reclaim is expected to generate significant social and environmental impact in Nepal and contribute to the following SDGs:

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

Nepal is among the least developed countries in the world, with about one quarter of its population living below the poverty line. Reclaim provides long term jobs and decent income.

Reclaim protects and restores water-related ecosystems, including mountains, forests, rivers, aquifers and lakes.

Reclaim provides safe and decent work in waste management.

Industrialization’s job multiplication effect has a positive impact on society. Small and medium-sized enterprises that engage in industrial processing and manufacturing are the most critical for the early stages of industrialization.  Reclaim will set up a material recovering and manufacturing facility and is therefore contributing to this goal.

Rapid urbanisation puts pressure on fresh water supplies, sewage, the living environment, and public health. Reclaim provides sustainable solutions in waste management, reducing waste in the streets, improving the quality of the air and, as a consequence, public health.

By manufacturing composite boards from recycled plastics and beverage cartons the need for virgin materials such as plastic and wood is reduced, leading to more responsible production practices

Climate change is now affecting every country and Nepal is among the countries affected most by climate change. Reclaim’s recycling activities reduce carbon emissions and these emission reductions can be traded on the market.
